Tree view

The Tree view presents your topology as an expandable tree. The exact structure depends on whether you are viewing a platform or an instance file.

Platform tree

See Topology Platform for an explanation of the platform concept.

The tree shows two top-level categories:

  • Channels: the communication buses (e.g. BodyCan0, DriverCan0)
  • ECUs: the electronic control units (e.g. BCM, DIM, FLCM)

Expand any node to drill into its children and see how ECUs and channels are connected.

In addition to the top-level categories there are also:

  • Service instances
  • Endpoints
  • Sockets

Instance tree

See Topology Instance for an explanation of the instance concept.

The instance tree shows the same channel and ECU hierarchy as the platform, but can also includes these instance-level entities:

  • Behavioral models
  • Containers
  • Expand/collapse: click any node to expand it and reveal its children. Click the chevron to collapse it again. You can also use the "expand all one level" and "collapse all" quick actions in the toolbar.
  • View details: click any node to open a detail panel showing properties such as channel type, database path, and connected ECUs.
  • Search: use the search bar at the top to filter the tree. Hover over the question mark icon inside the search bar for further help.
