Getting Started

We offer a free RemotiveCloud account where you get access to a few sample recordings with vehicle signal data. Get a first sense of the product by creating your free account now—no credit card required, no hidden fees, and it stays free.

Currently, RemotiveCloud only supports Google accounts. However, if you don’t have one, you can still use your existing business email by setting it up as a Google account. Here's how.

Get started with our sample recordings

Once you're logged in, you can get started right away by exploring our sample recordings. Just head to the Recordings section in the left-hand menu, where you'll find a few examples. Click on any of them to try out signal visualization, annotation of key points, and signal playback.

note

Can't find any sample recordings? Simply click the import icon in the upper right corner and import the samples you are interested in.

Get started with your own vehicle data

If you'd like to explore the product using your own recordings, start by uploading your signal database, followed by your recordings.

Step 1. Upload your signal databases

Go to the Signal database page and upload your signal database. Currently we only support the formats .dbc, .vspec_yaml and .arxml (for CAN). Read more here.

tip

Do you have access to many signal databases but are not sure which database matches your recording? No problem! Simply upload all your recordings, and our auto-match feature will automatically pair them with the most suitable signal database.

Step 2. Upload your recordings

Go to the recording page to upload your recordings. RemotiveCloud support recording file upload of .blf, .asc, candump .log, .mdf. Read more here.

Step 3. Open a recording and select signal database

In order to playback or visualize signals in RemotiveCloud, the recording needs to be decoded by a signal database. When uploading your recording files, the tool will make a first match between your recording and the signal databases available in the project. If the match is below 70%, the tool won’t auto-match. Instead, you’ll be given the option to either use the best-matched database or exclude that specific file/channel.

note

You can always re-include previously excluded files or channels and re-run the matching from the Files tab in the recording session. Read more here.

Step 4. You are ready to start working with your vehicle recording!

You're now ready to get stuff done! Read more about how to visualize signals, annotate key points of interest and playback your signals.
